The Raphael Hospital, located in Hildenborough, Kent, is a unique, independent hospital specialising in the rehabilitation of adults with neurological disorders. On a foundation of exceptional care and unrivalled facilities, Raphael Hospital has come to be regarded as one of the most trustworthy and cutting-edge facilities in the country.

The facilities include a dedicated physiotherapy gym, hydrotherapy pool and ensuite rooms, but when it came to the hospital’s communications, the system was a little less spectacular.

With 600 people working across the hospital providing continuous care, it was becoming clear that the Panasonic phone system in place was quickly falling out of date and had become too costly for the limited features available.

Including calls and rentals, costs were upwards of £1,000 per month. Not only that, but the outdated PBX wasn’t able to provide enough extensions for the growing number of staff and was too costly to scale. Ultimately, even simple tasks were proving too complicated.

Jack Wise notes that the impact of integrating 3CX provided an immediate result.

“Our costs were reduced to less than £300 per month. We also have significantly reduced our IT administration, with one company doing all the work. Tasks are now completed more easily, as we have more telephony in more locations,” Jack stated. “Home and remote workers are even now part of our system.”

But the biggest part of the system, Jack noted, was the ability to communicate with all sites and staff at no additional cost. As they expanded, they needed a system that could scale with the hospital.
